Lori: I think we should release the song today. What do you think?

Kenny: Let's wait a little longer. It's only been since 2010!

Joe: Go for it!

Kenny: I'm feeling it when I hear it.

Lori: it’s got that magic first take, don’t try, anything is possible.

Kenny: We were trying to get to the end! I think that was the first complete take. The bass slide up sounds like wtf is happening right now?…and then the amazing descending line

Joe: I'm getting excited

Lori: Haha, it's a good feeling.

Quiet Giant was recorded during a relaxed session at the band's home studio. Joe set up a snare, kick, a couple cymbals and one microphone in little Ellie's bedroom, down the hall from the control room, where Kenny recorded both the vocals and guitar live with a single microphone. Lori was inspired to layer an outer-space feeling bass track and synth Mellotron strings. The result is a no-frills, honest snapshot of instruments being played into a couple of mics.
