It was fitting that Troy NY was covered in a hush of snow and ice on the day this track was mixed and mastered. Our daughter Ellie, 8 years old, rejoiced in the freedom of the first school cancellation of the winter. The boundless energy of youth, bouncing off the walls of the house while the adults remained sequestered at the mixing desk, recalled shades of earlier days, when Kenny and I had ourselves a beautiful baby girl but very little time alone together.

We had been a couple and musical partners for nearly twenty years before adding Ellie to the fold. Many years of time to do as we wished, blown by the breeze of our inclinations. Once I had a baby in my arms, time alone with my husband was out of (literal!) reach and so this song was born. 'My wheel is spinning round baby but I'm going nowhere' was the start of it, and we passed the lyric sheet back and forth until there was enough rhythm and rhyme to plant it in the ground.

No doubt, Joe's drums are the source of swing and funk on this track. Playing with someone who can take a simple groove like this and make it come alive is one of the greatest privileges I'll ever know. We hope you put this song in the big speakers, and feel the joy that we've put into this song. Ellie approves!
